Trying is a thing

Trying means making small changes. It doesn’t mean being perfect. Instead of a potato we have carrots and cukes. A little canned corn (dropped and dented it after shopping so had to use it) and a breaded pork chop. This dinner costs less than $5 per plate.

Effort makes a difference. You won’t have instant results, but that is also the point. Slow and steady wins the race because it’s so much more sustainable.

Just start with one small thing? What one small thing can I do right now? And if there really is not a damn thing you can do. Then Radical Acceptance it is.

Radical acceptance doesn’t mean you like it: just means it’s happening. So then the next best move over what one small thing can I do becomes. What one thing can I do while I wait this out? What can I focus on my energy on that is within my control? Even if it sees unrelated. It will either buy you time until natural consequences create change: or distract you from the misery.

“Pain is necessary: suffering is optional.”
